Brett Davis, the legislator who was the favored candidate of the party establishment.
But Walker always claimed he was not backing any candidate in the crowded GOP primary for lieutenant governor.
On primary day in September 2010, Walker won the Republican nomination for governor. But Davis lost to tea party favorite Rebecca Kleefisch.
