Elsewhere in the EU we all have I. D. cards/numbers, locally-controlled (thanks, French Revolution!).

Sure, cheating (such as getting struck-off the local electoral roll) still happens, but less-so. And it's traceable.

In the end, ojo, who counts the votes?
