Cat leaps from window of burning building in Chicago -- and sticks the landing

4. I had a cat that jumped out a fourth floor window when I lived in NYC. She was fine

The window had sagged from the top while I was out and she jumped over it. The neighbors saw her her, took her in and gave her back the next morning. I think she was more traumatized by being in the neighbors apartment than jumping out the window. The neighbor on the second floor said she saw the cat fall past her window. So I took her to the vet and he said she was ok and that, oh yes fourth floor is generally well tolerated. Manhattan veterinarian. She went on to live to be about 19 years old.I saw the dent in the soft ground where she landed.
