Hitler considered actual Socialists his arch enemies; many who did not flee were sent to his Death Camps. I researched & interviewed (published 40 years ago) noted Hitler Exiles in Hollywood. According to them, to be a Socialist in Germany in the twenties was widespread and common; they likened it to being a Liberal or Democrat in the US.
