13. If we gain energy (i.e. carbon) efficiency the GDP will just rise faster.

 

If that happens we will keep being able to raise GDP despite declining fossil supplies and rising prices. and that means we'll be able to afford to keep using fossil fuels. And that means that carbon emissions will keep getting higher for probably the next 50 years.

We need to get carbon emissions headed down NOW. That's not happening, so we're cooked.
