Biden huddling with European leaders on Russia's military buildup on Ukraine border [View all]

President Biden will meet virtually with European leaders on Monday afternoon to discuss the buildup of Russian troops at Ukraine's border, as the U.S. reportedly prepares to send additional troops to the region.

The secure video call, set for 3 p.m., is "part of our close consultation and coordination with our Transatlantic Allies and partners in response to Russia's military buildup on Ukraine's borders," the White House said in a statement.

The call will include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Additionally, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and President Andrzej Duda of Poland will be on the call.

The call will take place in the Situation Room at the White House and will not be open to the press.
