. . . of one of the unmeasured effects of oppression. The loss of intellectual and creative input from those being oppressed. Humanity loses so much when any human group or individual is actively prevented from striving towards their full potential.

It's possible that we could be a thousand years ahead in technology and social development if women had not been vigorously enculturated into their "natural" home-bound lives.

If Turing had been stoned to death, imprisoned or aggressively "treated" at the first suspicion of his sexual orientation, we would--as the axiom goes--being speaking German right now.
