1. I had one extremely farsighted eye and one extremely nearsighted eye

The nearsighted eye went blind first and I can relate to his struggle talking to people (my farsighted eye started to focus at about 15 feet away, OK to drive, not OK for anything else), reading anything but the computer with text bolded, one letter at a time and making use of scroll + ctrl. It was still a massive struggle. I'm now 8 years out on a transplant plus a new lens and every day I am grateful to the incredibly generous family who signed the transplant forms after losing someone they loved.
