9. Flavor. Raw onions taste like rotting garbage soaked in battery acid.

I can detect them in infinitesimally small amounts, and they render inedible any dish that contains them. I can tolerate small amounts of well-cooked onions but the raw ones are galactically disgusting. My brother is the same way. Our mother would try to sneak onions into things by chopping them into very small pieces but we always found them. I've been known to pick tiny onion pieces out of salsa and pico de gallo.
