or the damn things wouldn't be in every damn thing you order at a restaurant so you have to pick the little bits out in order to eat the damn thing. It must be a genetic thing. We also hate most members of the cabbage family (especially Brussels spouts, kale and cauliflower), which taste extremely bitter to me. On the other hand I do like cilantro, which some people say tastes like soap.
As to perfume - I've always thought most Avon products smelled like bug spray.

Flavor. Raw onions taste like rotting garbage soaked in battery acid.
