(6,709 posts)32. No turkey--Mom was a lousy cook
and I've always hated it. Besides, the family only eats fish.
So. Baked salmon fillet with cranberry-orange glaze. Cornbread stuffing with more cranberries and nuts. Potatoes au gratin. Brussel sprouts with Dijon cream sauce. Baked acorn squash with butter and brown sugar. Wild Wild Rice with dried berries, toasted pecans, green onions, fresh mint and orange zest. Homemade cranberry sauce just in case it is needed. Dessert is two-fold: rum chiffon pie (old family recipe) and pumpkin cheesecake-to-die-for.
Oops: forgot the roasted corn and red pepper bisque to start. As if we needed it.
