Question...do you removed the bindings of the bales? Also, do you use a liquid general purpose fertilizer after you have finished prepping the bales? A friend used this method for growing basil a few years ago. He pulled up and brought in one of the plants and it was the biggest basil plant I had ever seen. Now I raise most of my veggies in raised beds, but am going to 5 gallon buckets for my toms, eggplant and peppers this year.
