1. yup, normal root tubers.

it's one of the things that can make the plant challenging. it makes them tend to get root bound, but at the same time need even, regular watering and moist soil.

it's not unusual to have them drop a bunch of needles when they come in. that's one reason i dont put a lot of plants outside in the summer. the transition in and out causes enough stress that i always thought it came out a bit of a wash.

they like good humidity, so regular spraying helps.
