(14,487 posts)40. When I volunteered at a shelter a couple came in with the woman's mother...
She was 79 and missed having a cat since her beloved pet passed away earlier that year. They adopted an adult cat for her, and pledged to care for it themselves when the time came that she could not care for it or she passed.
I hope to have a plan like that by then myself.

I am 74 and husband 82 and fighting cancer. We know the 3 cats will probably outlive us and
