I don't believe in de clawing and there is an alternative,; Soft Paws. Not the only supplier but easiest to find on the net. It's fake claws that slide on over the claws with super glue. Trim the claw and glue it on. When the claw grows out they fall off, no harm to the pet. Comes in lots of colors, protects furniture and costs about $10 a year.
