2. Use of the term "gun nuts" immediately disqualifies this article as journalism.

There have been stupid local government representatives as long as there have been local governments.

"In the wake of Newtown" types of legislation are inherently weak and prone to disaster.

We need to legislate with reason, not emotion, or at least with a reasonable balance between the two.
