there are an infinite number of possibilities and outcomes. Some cases directly, some cases, maybe not. With Charles Whitman, a couple of students and a prof happened to have their deer rifles in their cars and were able to provide suppressive fire to allow police to safely advance on the tower.

Either way, self defense, and the means to do so, is a fundamental human and natural right. The basic principle of being pro-choice is personal autonomy privacy as protected under the 9A. The same is true with self defense. An attack on one individual right is an attack on all.
