If the firearms can be traced back to the store, then a 4473 was filled out. The police/ATF can EASILY find out who made the illegal straw purchase. I see a couple of things happening here.
1) The Chicago police are lazy and incompetent. Same difference ATF.
2) Chicago has a gang/crime problem. Local government is ineffective and seeks to shed blame.
3) The story is BULLSHIT and based on <half truths.
