11. Very confusing for this little former Chicago boy

But then again, keeping in mind that most of the U of C's research re: Crime and Guns is still funded by the Joyce Foundation, my confusion is understandable. I did note that the "study" doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between a straw purchase and a stolen gun, among other confusing issues.

I have been told, on these very boards, that all the gangs need to do is drive to Indiana or any other neighboring state and just walk into a gun store or gun show with cash. Then for a long time Daley blamed Mississippi, Alabama and a host of other Southern states for the guns in the streets.

But I guess the obvious answer is they can't come from any inside Chicago source, since there hasn't been a gun store in the city for decades.

For anyone keeping track, Rahm's call for statewide registration is already DOA in the legislature, just like Governor Quinn's call for another AWB here.

Rahm is doing a "fine" job of policing the city, no contracts for teachers, firemen or police, 1,200 fewer cops on the streets than 8 years ago and 17 citizens shot this weekend with 7 dead so far. But who cares if he fucks the unions over, he's a gun grabber, so be sure and applaud him

But thank heavens we have those big $$$ speeding cameras, $12 an hour parking meters, gorgeous flower pots on Michigan avenue and those nice wrought iron fences. That's the stuff that really counts in running a city.
