(374 posts)and insisted on empowering a militia comprised of every able bodied man willing and able to fire a rifle in defense of the country in order to avoid all the nasty things that rise up alongside a large entrenched military presence. They were in agreement that the militia was not an organized military force controlled by the government but, rather, to be comprised of every able bodied man willing and able to fire a rifle in defense of the country. Come January 2nd, 2013 we may very well come to see in hinsight what our forefather knew in forsight, that widespread and entrenched militarism is unsustainable and that the militia is the only sustainable form of national defense. For this reason, the right to possess the implements of war is and has always been the birth right of every American and it should always be this way.
