in my humble opinion. (I admit to being slightly less than objective, as I've enjoyed a casual friendship with the new Champ.)
Klitschko has been a dominant fighter for a decade. I have a lot of respect for him. Yet, he has also been the more mechanical of the brothers. And he doesn't have the same level of mental toughness that Vitali has had.
Usually, he can land the left-right, then wrestle, over and over. And he has been highly successful with that. But the difference between fighting a smaller opponent, who has to come forward (at least part of the time), is very different than fighting a big, athletic kid who can move. Fury won the battle of the jabs, and virtually everything comes off the jab.
I think age is a factor. It's more difficult to be at "peak" on fight-night as one ages. Wlad appeared to be slightly over-trained -- specifically, in this instance, likely being two days after peaking in training. His timing was off, more than in other fights.
Lots of hostile Klitschko fans complaining on the boxing forums tonight. They are having trouble accepting what they just saw.
