Hit the driving range today. Boy technology sure has come a long way. [View all]

I was at a sports park (range, softball/baseball cages/mini golf) that has automatic serving tees. Dump the bucket basically into the tee box and they come up one at a time. There are 4 settings for the height of the tee - big button you can push with your club. You can also knock it off the tee to hit irons. The mat knows when you've hit and brings up another ball. You can really get into a groove.

So the ball collector guy was out and wouldn't get out of the areas I wanted to hit. I didn't want to fire at him so I had to keep changing clubs and targets. Did reasonably well considering first time out this year.

Okay here's the funny part. Apparently there are now robot ball recovery things. Compare to the innovations from the early years.
