coaches punting regularly on 3rd down in case something went wrong with the punt.

My favorite player, Billy Lothridge of Ga Tech, quarterbacked, played safety, punted, and occasionally placekicked.

But, later we had athletes — like Deion Sanders or Bo Jackson — who were great athletes in several sports. So that’s cool too.
