1. A poorly assembled crankset is a disaster.

I rode with a guy who just upgraded his crankset when he learned he didn't re-install it correctly.

We decided to sprint through a section and when he stood on the pedals his foot went straight to the pavement. From there, it was ass over teacups as he bounced down the road to a stop. He looked like he got hit with a car and we picked up crankset parts for 60 feet.

He bought a new torque wrench - and fixed his bike properly - he was pretty lucky we were on a flat straightaway and not doing 40 mph downhill.
