(7,886 posts)It's like the "What if hillary were a man" question, you're removing core parts of her and changing her whole identity and public perception.
If the Pope weren't for all that stuff he wouldn't be the pope, Catholic dogma would be different, and we wouldn't have had ta thousand years of Catholic oppression world-wide.
So yea, if he were as you said things would be wildly different and most of us probably wouldn't care.
You have this whole process backwards, You think we're just hate religion, so we bring up all these "talking points" as you so crassly call them, while the truth is that the actions of your pope, your church, the atrocities that it has perpetrated, and still denys/celebrates (Father Sera canonization anyone?) are the reason that your church is "hated"
This is blind animosity, it's well earned.
Now, why do you still love the pope knowing he's a bigoted pedo-protecting, child abuse supporting, evangelical, anti-LGBTQIA, anti-abortion, anti-women person?
