Not a very good point, from the looks of it. I mean, if your best retort to thousands of years of intolerance, cruelty, and regressive superstition is "patriots do it, too", you're not standing on the thickest of ice.

And that's not even taking the concept of "civic religion" into account. You probably don't want to go there.
