2. If every MLB and NFL team has at least one gay player (according to an

anonymous source 10 years ago during that Collins story), then each school district should have LGBTQ staff as well. How else can we reach out to kids who are struggling with identity, rejection at home or bullying in public? They need role models and adults who have "been there".

I cringe when I hear teachers say homophobic, racist or sexist things around me. I know for a fact they are lousy teachers who aren't objective in the classroom. (I also know one nurse who could work for our "great and glorious leader" by how often she uses racial slurs.)

These kids are already experiencing a social and emotional deficit and shouldn't fall through the cracks any longer. We need a level playing field.
