7. Neti pot

Remedy #1 - Get a neti pot at your drugstore, they're about $12 at CVS. Use it to rinse out your sinuses. It's amazing.

Just remember if you live anywhere in or near Louisiana, use distilled water or boiled then cooled water in the neti pot to prevent a serious amoeba infection.

Remedy #2 - Ginger tea. Twinings lemon ginger tea is very good, but you can also use a small piece of peeled ginger root. Add a little honey to the tea.

Remedy #3 - Hydrogen peroxide. Fill a small glass or up with 1/3 peroxide, 2/3 water, it doesn't have to be exact. Dip cotton swabs in the mixture and use to gently wipe inside your ears. Then dip cotton swabs in the mixture and wipe out the insides of your nostrils. Finally, gargle with the remaining peroxide mixture.
This last one is best done at the first sign of a cold. The peroxide kills germs, and I've fought off many a starting cold by doing this.
