I share your hopes and your fears.

In my 70+ years of interest in all things scientific, especially physics and mathematics underpinning everything, I feel like we (the world) are on the cusp of a possible huge flowering of discoveries. While the first half of the 1900's seems to have given us a strong new foundation (special relativity and quantum mechanics) the last 30-40 years have shown that we can build on these in practical ways.

I hope we can use these new ideas and techniques to make this a much better world.

I fear that they will be used and abused by the same type of amorality that we see in government and in those that deny reality.
