Believers don't know that.

My brother, a hardcore atheist like myself, was with my mother the last hrs of her life and before she took her last sleep in which she died, he asked her if she was scared. She gave him an emphatic "NO! Why would I be scared?"

She was so dogmatically sure she was going to gawd!! In some small way, I envy such ignorant, stupid dogma. But I never respect it!! Thinking: "There's more to come and I'm not ending" is comforting.

Unsurprisingly, she was an ignorant repub too who also thought the sun went around the earth, that she was smart because she made a lot of money, and that everyone loved her. She never doubted her beliefs and was content & happy most of her life. Although, she always worked very hard, she reasoned like a spoiled child.
Narcissistic? Oh, hell yes.

Sometimes, "ignorance is bliss."

P S. You can imagine how she & I got along. And the therapy I've been through.
