1. I haven't been watching closely.

Here in New Hampshire we have our own special cold spot-5288ft Mt Washington. Less than a week ago I saw a reported summit temp of -39 F. If you tie that to the fact that winds there have been recorded in excess of 200mph and you've got a special kind of cold...

Anyhow, for those who are curious I've added a link to webcams of the mountain.
