10. My husband lost his dad because his dad couldn't get the proper support after his heart attack.

His dad died less than a year after his heart attack. My husband had a heart attack and because he has Medicare and a supplemental policy my husband got into a rehab program that taught him how to eat, take his medicine religiously, exercise and manage stress. Seven months later his doctors tell him he is doing great. And because of Medicare and his supplemental policy we never received any medical bills for his care. My husband's heart attack was hard on me. I started having physical symptoms and panicked. I went to the ER a couple of times(it turned out I was having physical symptoms of depression) and because all I have is a private insurance policy I now have $4000 in copays that I cannot pay. I have never thought ACA was good enough. I am glad more people have insurance but we will never be where we need to be until we have single payer. I am sorry you have gone through what you have and hope your mother gets the health care she needs and deserves. Health care should be a fundamental right for everyone.
