2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: Bernie handling Maddow! [View all]Skid Rogue
(711 posts)Because I've known her for years, I've watched her.
I watched as the Clintons turned a red country blue.
I watched her champion healthcare 20 years before anyone else had the guts to take it on.
I saw she and her husband provide desperately needed money for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
I heard her say that "women's rights, are human rights" and it brought me to tears.
I voted for her as Senator twice, as she faced constant character assassination from the right-wing.
I watched as she, the carpetbagger, handily defeated the NY darlings of the Republican Party. (It was a thing of beauty.)
I lived in NYC during 911. She was my senator. I watched her fight for the well being of first responders. I ran down the street, following The Columbus Day Parade in Manhattan, a month after the attack, just to keep my eyes on her.... hot coffee splashing over my hand. They said it was super dangerous, but there she was smiling and waving at us all.
I watched as she was defeated by President Obama, then fought for his election with all her heart. (like I did)
I watched her raked over the coals because of Benghazi and end up making the Republicans look like complete fools twice. OMG! I'd like to see Bernie do that. Look how he acted under 10 minutes of a reporter's questions.
I've seen Hillary Clinton in action for the better part of my life. I respect her. I think the right-wingers have done everything they could to pull her down. They've failed. She's about to become President of this beautiful nation.
You can google plenty of links to her official accomplishment, but this is why I love her.
Also, I hate, hate, hate to see the Bernie supporters spilling out right wing talking points. We're all better than that.
