So that real progress can be made. But I honestly have to say that I don't know of anything that politicians have done that has affected me in the past two decades or more.
9/11? A little more waiting time at the airport. No big deal. Everything else is sort of theorizing on what might be best. Pushing for minority rights, voting rights, abortion rights, etc. And yes, again in theory, that affects me or my daughters or my friends, but never directly.
Nevertheless, all of those issues need more focus. That's why I vote for the Democratic party. A complete overhaul? Don't see it happening until there are pitchforks in the street -never.
