In 2008, they said, "If we stay home and don't vote for McCain, the party will have to give us a real conservative next time.'

And, the next time, they got Romney. Then it was "If we stay home and we don't vote for Romney, the party will have to give us a real conservative next time."

And, the next time, they got Trump.
