7. Why would MSNBC or any other network feel the NEED to announce the results before voting ends?

That just seems strange to me. Doing it for the "scoop" isn't valid in my opinion because they'll be describing and event that hasn't even happened yet since voting is still taking place. I think that makes the word "scoop" moot. How can you scoop something before it's even happened?
