of poll workers being given the wrong information, or people registering voters telling them incorrect things. However, the voting regulations - including how to get a Democratic ballot if you're a non-partisan voter - are on the Secretary of State's web site, and physical copies were mailed weeks ago to all households with registered voters. So it's not hard to check if you've been given bad information.

Run into a problem at the polls? Take your voter's guide, show the person working there what it says, and demand the correct ballot. If they give you a hard time, stand your ground and don't leave until you've at least been given a provisional ballot. And document what happened, and notify both the county registrar and the secretary of state: there is no plot to disenfranchise voters - and not following directions is not disenfranchisement.
