The Republican Party, the institutional part of it, has already braced itself for a loss in November. They'll be badly beaten, they'll probably need two election cycles to recover, but they'll survive.

If they unseat Trump, though, the Tea Party faction will stampede off to join the Libertarians. They'll still lose. A quarter of their base will be gone, and a probably substantial number of mainstream R's will have decided that Hillary isn't the spawn of Satan after all. The damage to the Republican Party would be permanent and irreparable.
