I've been around a decade longer and I still consider my going all in for Obama in 2008 the closest I've come to feeling I had a voice.

It's one reason I get mad at uncompromising lefties. Obama has showed us how you get progressive change some, one bloody step at a time. There's no "revolution" needed or possible. This is a diverse county. It includes rich people and conservatives and they are citizens too. It includes racists and xenophobes. Somehow you need to move a mountain one grain at a time.
