Trump is an embarrassment to himself, an embarrassment to his party, and an embarrassment to the nation. There is no Broderism on this either. He is no run-of-the-mill bad political candidate. We have never had such a thoroughly unworthy presidential candidate in the history of the republic. Literally.

The unwillingness of the mainstream GOP to repudiate him says a great deal about the GOP, none of it good. People like McCain, Ryan, and McConnell know he is a dangerous lunatic. Their deference is a profile in cowardice.

Couldn't have said it better.
