It's a debate method and he used it very well. It doesn't matter whether or not what you say is true it's how you say it. You have to look like you know what you're talking about and he did that. It's also being able to deflect what your opponent is talking about and talk about what you want to talk about. That's what he did, that's what Romney did in his first debate against the President in 2012. By that measure, Pence won.

Most people aren't going to remember what was said, they'll remember who said it and how. If they remember at all. Vice presidential debates aren't generally held in that high of regard.

What happens on Sunday is going to matter 10 times more.
