If you want to see all the threads posted on DU you will need to set your filters to "All." Click on the Latest Threads tab at top and set the filters I circled in red as shown below:

Note: Milestones are when an individual thread receives numerous responses and they will appear when that particular thread jumps in increments of 25. They are denoted by the blue triangle on the left side of the thread.

As far as subscribing to individual groups, click on the "Forums & Groups" tab at top, then click on the individual folder that you want to subscribe. In this instance, I'm noting a group that I already subscribe to so it says "Unsubscribe from this group" instead. Whenever someone creates a new thread in that group, the "My Subscriptions" tab at top will turn yellow similar to the "My Posts" tab. You can view the groups that you subscribe to by looking at the left side navigation guide under "My Subscriptions" and it will show the folders that you select.

Note that you cannot subscribe to individual threads or individual posts. If a particular thread is of interest, then click the "Bookmark this thread" that is below the DU Rec button. You can remove the bookmark by clicking on that button again. You can see all of your bookmarks by clicking "My Bookmarks" link above the Google search bar at the top of the screen. You might want to investigate the "My Account" and "My Profile" link also.

One other piece of advice that I'll provide is that regarding the choice of which Web Browser to use. I use Firefox as my Web browser and the Ad block add-on so that ads are not displayed and because it will virtually eliminate most ads when viewing videos which saves a tremendous amount of time. The colorful background is also a theme that I chose using Firefox. The ad blocker works outside of DU and I consider it a "must" if you view a lot of videos such as YouTube, Lifetime, MSNBC, etc.

Do not delete Internet Explorer as a Web browser though since it has some good diagnostic tools for diagnosing and repairing Web connectivity. Internet Explorer is also necessary to be able to completely navigate some Web pages due to the mark-up language if a Web page developer designed their application specifically for that browser. For example, there are a few newspaper Websites that won't allow the user to advance to a second page of comments by clicking the link when using Firefox, but it will allow the user to do so when using Internet Explorer.

I hope that assists with making your experience on DU (and the rest of the Internet) more pleasant since I'm gathering that you might be a novice user. I've been working on computers for about 25 years so I ended up learning a lot by playing with various functions. However, it's always great to read new tips to make surfing on the Web more fun.
