I think it goes all the way back to the Vietnam War. The media was instrumental in bringing the war into everyone's living room turning the public against the war. They realized that they couldn't push their corporate wars unless we were kept in the dark. They systematically began to buy up the media and now own it outright. I can't even watch the local news in the mornings anymore because every other story is about some new breakfast food McDonald's is pushing or what Dunkin Donuts is offering for a limited time. It's just nonsense start to finish. Corporate news.
