(14,733 posts)But specifically targeting only Bernie. The event disrupted today wasn't a Bernie rally. It was a larger event with a whole host of speakers, and the disruption only occurred when it was Bernie's time to speak. That, along with the fact that we're not hearing anything about BLM disrupting any Hillary events, O'Malley events, Webb events, or Chafee events is starting to make it easier for people to believe that these specific disruptions ARE about losing Bernie votes, and not actually about saving black lives. Even if you conflate Bernie and O'Malley by saying 'After all, we have Democrats dismissing the BLM message by blurting out "All lives matter," ' which was, of course, O'Malley and not Bernie. That kind of calls for O'Malley events to be disrupted, if you want to point out that that 'doesn't look good'.
I expect action from Bernie on our racist 'justice' systems if he becomes President. But if he is deliberately cut off from even a chance of winning black votes, well, he probably won't be President, and he won't be able to do nearly as much to help with that much needed reform. And the results I've been seeing from these BLM activities are more and more AA's saying they won't ever vote for Bernie. It may not be the intent of the activists, but it's what's actually happening.
