knowingly accessed forbidden records belonging to another entity definitely broke laws in place to keep, for instance, Bank of America from accessing Wells Fargo records, or some school district from snooping through another's. Whether there are specific federal laws that would apply to this kind of malfeasance in a political campaign is undefined, but it would be strange if there were not. The FEC has a lot of regulations governing the behavior of candidates and campaigns.

Speaking the truth is not slander -- or even libel since this is in writing.

The question is: WHY are Bernie's followers so BUSY defending this records theft and going on and on about it, lying about it, flaming about it, when Bernie himself fired the people involved and formally apologized in front of millions? Bernie needs this in the past. Do these people somehow imagine they are somehow HELPING him? Or is it, as I suspect, just out-of-control followers indulging in bad behavior for their own enjoyment?
