I just went to another PC with Windows 10 and Chrome. I could zoom in (ctrl +) several times and never had a horizontal scroll bar. It appeared that the text just re-wrapped as I zoomed in and I lost the right column(s) after multiple zooms. I see the same thing in all forums I've checked with Firefox.

I don't know if it will help, but you might want to fiddle with the font settings in chrome. I believe there are minimum and default font size settings available.

Maybe you could ask down in Computers & Internet >> Computer Help and Support

At 100% I find the fonts too small too. Good luck.
