Nice that he rescued them pups! Kudos to the man!

As for ours, the one on the left is Harvey (of Batman fame ... note the face coloring, which was even more distinctly two-tone as a pup) and we found him at 6 months old, dodging among 4 lanes of traffic in Mesa, AZ ... in July ... in 110F weather. We did everything to find his proper home, including putting up signs and driving all over the neighborhood where we found him, posting on CL and Pets911.com, etc. Nada ... someone really messed up losing that dog, cause he's AWESOME.

I believe him to be predominately Braque D'Auvergne (a type of French Pointer), I'm guessing mixed with Great Dane due to his size/weight exceeding that of the Braque's typical limit by a few inches and 10+ lbs (he's an 82lb dog), plus the imperfection in his facial coloring (supposed to have bilateral symmetry, which his does not). He's even more gorgeous than he looks in that pic ... cute as a button, but also just rippling with muscle. He's an absolute lovebug, too, when it comes to people ... but he don't truck with no other dogs, apart from Theo. He's fiercely territorial, like he will F*** UP any other dog he sees if you give him the chance. It's a trip. Suffice to say, he don't get to go to the dog park!

We really wonder what happened to him in his first 6 months. He's terrified of the fly swatter, for example ...

Here's a typical Braque, and Harvey looks EXACTLY like this, but without the symmetrical facial coloring, and slightly bigger):
