For the time being, we'll be offered only corporatists in the primaries. We should know this by now, that candidates are pre screened and preselected on the basis of their willingness to play ball with the 1%. It was that way before and during the early part of the Depression, too, when they elected a rather mushy member of their own class in the hope he wouldn't rock the boat and cost them too much money. That plutocrat was FDR.

While we all dream of a progressive president and enough of a progressive Congress to overturn Reaganism and get this country back to a more egalitarian society and off the path to aristocracy lording it over serfs, a progressive president would be a disaster in this political climate, stymied even worse than Obama has been because s/he would severely threaten the cash flow, which remains positive for the time being.

I would rather see Warren as Comptroller of the Currency, a little known but immensely powerful position in which she could rein in the worst of the banksters. A former Republican and banker in good standing, she knows where enough of the bodies are buried to do a great deal of damage to the crooks in the banks.

As far as the presidency, I'll vote for whomever the Democrats decide to allow us to vote for and hope that person turns into as big a traitor to his/her class as FDR was if the next crash happens during his/her term(s).

We know the next crash is coming, too. They did nothing after the last one. The 1% didn't allow it. That is the message Warren is giving us and we'd do well to heed it.
