10. As Mayor, he ran against a candidate who spent millions and won. He also ran against a candidate

whom both Democrats and Republicans united behind, for the purpose of unseating the independent Mayor, who was obviously beloved by the voters of Burlington, because they kept re-electing him, no matter what. (After he won his first election by only 8 votes--on a recount!) He won against the uniparty candidate, too.
