Budgets can only be stretched so far before people have to curtail their generosity. People that were not directly affected by the hurricanes were indirectly hit with higher costs, particularly for gasoline. I wouldn't be surprised if the economy actually contracted on a nationwide basis during this the latest quarter of this year.
